Kotaku Previews MySims Agents

AJ Glasser from Kotaku recently got her hands on MySims Agents for the Wii. So far she really likes it. The only problem she found was the platforming is not that great compared to the puzzle solving aspects of the game. Check out her preview here

New Sims 3 iPhone screens

EA Mobile has released 4 new screenshots for The Sims 3 for iPhone, which actually looks surprisingly good considering it is on the iPhone. It looks comparable to TS2 on the PSP based off of these screens. Enjoy the screens posted below.

Gamespot Previews MySims Racing

Gamespot has also gotten hands-on with MySims Racing and have written up a preview for the game, and they also seem to like it.

We had a chance to see only a few tracks, but there seems to be quite a bit of variety and things to do, especially if you're helping the townsfolk with their problems. You don't have to complete all of the challenges, but we were told that there are at least 10 hours of gameplay if you head straight to the finish line. Otherwise, you can easily spend more than 20 hours collecting parts and beating all of the challenges.

Kotaku Previews MySims Racing

AJ Glasser from Kotaku recently got her hands on MySims Racing, and for the most part seems to like the Mario-Kart ripoff.

Using the currency that you pick up from different tracks, you can change pretty much everything on your kart from the engine to the body. Different parts affect the handling, top speed and weight of the kart, while special parts obtained from completing challenges can give you bonuses to handling, speed or weight.

Wired Magazine Preview

Wired recently recently had a hands-on preview with The Sims 3, and they put up a preview about many different aspects of the game.

The Sims 3 also does away with some of the duller parts of virtual life management. Keeping your Sims in good spirits is key to making friends and staying employed, but earlier games forced players to do a lot of babysitting. The Sims are now a bit more autonomous, and dramatic status changes will trigger "moodlets" that alert a player when a Sim's needs have become dire.

Gamespot Hand's on Preview

Gamespot recently got their hands on The Sims 3, and have now put up a Hands-on preview of the game. They talk a lot about Custom Content and Build/Buys modes in the game.

Buy and Build modes have been tweaked in The Sims 3, and neighborhood lots will also work differently. Previously, furniture for your house was sorted by function and type; now they'll have a revamped room-specific sorting list as well. The larger part of the story of the Buy and Build modes will be the use of create-a-style to paint all of your furniture, as well as your house, with whichever patterns you want as freeform wallpaper and carpeting--such as with, let's say for the sake of example, leopard print. (We tried this, and you can absolutely have leopard-print sofas in a room with all leopard-print walls.) Swapping in custom-built items created by the fanatically loyal Sims community will also be made easier in The Sims 3 with a built-in application that runs out of the game's launcher (as opposed to having to quit the game, open up a Web browser, and pulling up the "Exchange" community site, which is being updated to include YouTube-like and Facebook-like functionality, such as blogs, friends lists, favorites lists, and user ratings). In addition to uploading and downloading furniture, customized sims characters, and housing to and from the community site, The Sims 3 will have an in-game movie-making tool that will let you upload and download videos to and from the Exchange. More details on that at a later date.

Giant Bomb Interviews Ben Bell

One of my Favorite websites, Giantbomb.com got hands on with The Sims 3 recently, and Ryan Davis posted a preview piece
"The demo of The Sims 3 started off as the game itself does, with the Create-a-Sim mode, which packs the basic framework of the character-creation system from The Sims 2 with more granular customization options. There are four discreet color regions for your sim's hair. There are three sliders dedicated to just the size and shape of your sim's nose. You can now choose to start your sim in one of five age brackets, creating a distinction between a young adult and a middle-aged one. If all that sounds like a bit much, there are plenty of presets that you can choose from during the process, which still work plenty fine. Spending only a few minutes with the Create-a-Sim tool, I was able to shape and clothe a decent, if admittedly idealized, approximation of mysimself."
He also had an interview with Ben Bell who had plenty to say about the game, and talked a little about the new Playable Ghosts. You can read the preview and watch the interview here [Giantbomb.com]
